Real Moroccan Man

Hi Moroccan Man,

Thankyou for your reply, you are right I am definitely not on a witch hunt, I am confused and was trying to see if there was some similarities between my situation and others. The answer is yes and no... Some people on here have truly been done over, I am sure if there was a site for Australian or German or Italians it would be jam packed with the same situations as there are here.

I thought being he had left his country 22years ago he may have adapted some western ways, but his ways are very ingrained and while I understand and appreciate it, I am a human being who happens to be a woman and in ingrained in me is that woman are equal, not that I want to rush down and burn my bra in equality, but my life is not his life, I have 38yr experience and I am not about to become a 2nd to anyone.

I think the guy I have been dealing with thinks that because I have said I want to be with him, it's a simple as that and no more real effort needs to be made, but when I ask him for more ie: future plans, emotion he keeps me at arms length and I do not operate like that, I love whole heartedly and with everything I am and have, I feel like I love him more than he loves me. We are just ships in the night and he could be anyone, I need more from a partner. Relationships are difficult at the best of times when they live a suburb away let alone thousand of km's away.

I wasn't looking for support to witch hunt Moroccan men generally, honestly I never wanted a Moroccan man or searched for one, I have friends from all walks of life and I do not even have a specific type of man that I look for other than a genuine heart, mutual respect and some genuine values... The country or origin is irrelevant. I wasn't even looking for love, I was enjoying my freedom and life as I knew it and I don't need to move onto another man to make me feel better I am most happy in my own skin.

I told this man that I am unhappy and that this isn't working because for 4 days he ignored me then sent me a msg "I am mad with you" and "not in the mood to talk" I said well I am unhappy too and it might be best we end things as it's been going on like this for a while, he sent back a thumbs up sign... 2 days later I sent him a lengthy message telling him I didn't like the person I had become and that I wish him the best and not to contact me anymore. His response was "text u later"... He then did not respond for 2 days and his text is "hi, how are you"? I said I wanted to ignore your message as you do mine, but 2 wrongs don't make a right, he said I'll call you tomorrow, have a nice day....

Truly if this is a man that valued me or wanted me regardless of his origin I do not think this is the way to go about it, I don't want to change anyone, a couple will evolve and grow together, I have never married and never had children as I only wish to do it once, but that means I should get the best person for the job and I guess my coming to this site was to ascertain whether this man was worthy of my time and I needed to make some allowances for the greater future or whether I was becoming just another notch on his bedpost.
