Whilst I disagree that online romances are harder to heal from (you can't compare a living, breathing relationship to chatting on whatsapp for example)... you're right in that we create an image of these men in our heads. I feel like we see them as an escape from reality. These men come from a totally different culture... religion too... and yet some of us are ready to sacrifice all that we've built up in our lives... our identities, everything... just to go and live this fantasy. And it's the men that gain everything and lose nothing. It's the men that usually get the better end of the stick.

You were vulnerable and he picked up on it, as is often the case on here. Not to mention the fact that guys living in the west have the communication skills of a moody teenager... it's understandable then why so many women fall for the constant attention coming from MENA men. But realise that loveboming does not = real love. I'm glad you pulled through, and let this be seen as a lesson to all!
