That's such a sad story.
There is nothing quite like losing a mother. It's a pain that lessens but never goes away.
I have often said, the caregiver for those with Dementia and Alzheimer's has the worse job of all. It is much worse when you are a close relative. I could tell some horror stories I have heard.

Just know that your mom was not the person you could relate to before. The diseases of the brain transform people into someone else. I've known victims of said disease that could not recognize their own children after a while.

As for the rat...well, that's what rats do. That's why they are rats.
I say good riddance. There is no way you could have had a future with someone so uncaring.

You are beautiful, bright and kind. You deserve so much more, but you already know that.
