About my telling Sophie about the age difference being immaterial had everything to do with -not pushing her further into depression.She already mentioned that she is having a mental breakdown.Why make her more conscious of her errors?After all she claims to have married him.She has no problems with the age difference,may be because she was lonely in the first place.So a bit of understanding on our part so as not to push her over the cliff.

She did mention a foreign office confirmation to the effect that this Alegerian specimen isn't already married in his home country.If the Home Dept.can help her this much ,why can't they help her more by submitting her marriage certificate (a copy duly authenticated AND if she has one) to the Algerian authorities so as to ascertain further facts and enquiring with the 'specimen'of the moment about his intentions.Mind well,this scam business has to be stopped by the Govt.now.By informing the counterparts in Algeria.Otherwise, many lonely,gullible women will continue suffering.It's not only murder of a citizen where the Home Dept.needs to jump in.Or accidents.Here,her Govt.will have to alert all her compatriots about what is happening and warn them against scam.It will be criminal to wait for this till some serious issue emerges.

True,a Muslim can officially marry 4 wives AND can have innumerable concubines if he can afford and is completely shameless.INTERESTING CUSTOM THERE.

Anyway,I merely expressed my wishes not knowing the nuances of any legal or diplomatic.process that can be initiated.

Let's hope she recovers fully and also finds a very nice person to grant her the affection and trust she desires and deserves.
