Good advice, that can refer to both mena and non mena men.

A lot of women are mourning the loss of a mena man, when the truth is they've made a lucky escape. You need to look at it this way - envision two future versions of yourself.... the future you that's been ground down and has completely remoulded her identity to suit a man, and the future you that's able to make her own choices, with or without a man that takes her for who she is...

Which path would you choose...

I'll add that most mena men are controlling of their women in some shape or form... this is usually for cultural reasons, the reason being they hail from a culture that offers conditional love... one that has two faces and revolves around communal approval rather than individual satisfaction. If you slip up you're basically disowned. And so for this men are required to keep their women in check. Relatively normal men will keep it casual. Some women do in fact enjoy this dynamic, and to each their own - as LONG as she's not being deprived or isolated then it's not *so* bad..

The real nutjobs and abusers, however, will ramp up the control and abuse for no other reason than it makes them feel powerful. Like Saeorse said these men don't improve they get worse. Much much worse. And by that point you'll be feeling a strange mix of intense love and fear of any repercussions.
