He is methodically tearing you down verbally

this is what verbal abuse can do to a woman. He is trying to tear down your self esteem.....WHY? One reason......CONTROL. He wants to control you, make you so emotionally drained and dependent on him that YOU WILL NOT LEAVE HIM.

Understand that love builds up and does not tear down. Better to be alone than to live with that constant torture of a nasty tongue.

Take comfort in knowing that it is him that has the problem. You are only 21 and there should be time for you to grow and mature as you move through life.

You are very smart indeed to come to this forum and reach out for support. Turn your ears away from the verbal attacks if you cannot get away from him.

Never believe a lie about yourself....just the fact that you came here shows that you are a very smart woman. He is a liar.
