It took me bout a year to have the psychological pain healed. I hope you are not in contact with him still

Manipulation is a dirty game played on your emotions. I know how you feel. My brain finally kicked in with clarity and I saw I was just loving the illusion he created for me.

Just today I did a video on the 5 stages of healing after a breakup. And that is denial...anger...bartering...depression.... Then finally acceptance.

Only way though to start the real healing is no contact. I listen to positive confirmations in the morning on you tube. Soft music with a gentle voice. It seems hokey at first but it did help me to drown out my ex voice. Sort of a reprohgraming the mind away from the brainwashing.
