I'm British too (white, non-muslim). Steer away mate. Save your heart. My Egyptian ex was awesome at first and he told me he had told his parents about me but funny how I never met them. Actually no, not funny at all. It took me one year to recover from the relationship and I ended up with nothing. I didn't trust him in the end so backed off.
