Just don't get into yet another relationship on the rebound and don't resort to any addiction,even smoking or occasional drinking since these can take you down a spiral---since at the moment you are most vulnerable.Just breathe deeply and thank your stars that it was over before it was to late.You weren't born with him and weren't going to die with him.This was not to be.Be happy since the best period of life and the right person will appear now,even when you least expect.So let the miracle happen.

Forget about men being stronger.It's all individual.You are doing great.I don't know which book you are referring to but I have always advised--Stepping Into The Shadows by Rosemarie Sookhdeo.This book has illustrated many such relationships which ended in a disaster and more information is available.
