Why not ask?

Dear Shayla,

I am happy to note that you are happily married.

I think you should in a very nice way ask your husband to converse in English,since you can't appreciate what the trio is talking about and so can't enjoy.Don't ask accusingly and never give any hint of suspicion.

It could be something absolutely harmless such as that couple not being comfortable with English.In fact,you could strike friendship with that lady and learn a few culinary recipes from her.You will thus be very pleasantly surprised to find nothing going awry there and also keep your husband happy with the kind of food he presumably loves.

Be watchful but not paranoid is all one can advise.
