Advice to all of you asking about TURKISH men-I am a turkish woman

I do not know how I ended up this web site, but I will try to say a few words on Turkish men since I am Turkish. Turkish Muslims are different than other Muslims. Most of them are secular, very democratic. But in the end we are from Mediterranean, so expect Turkish men to be a little more passionate and a little bit more charming and of course a little bit more aggressive (comes with passion) and a little bit more jealous than American men. that being said, I guess this passion make them good lovers, so it is trade off.

To answer some of your questions:

1) Nope, he will not; why would he change his religion for you, why would you even want that? You also should not change your religion for anybody. If you cannot accept a person (including his religion) than simply do not involve with that person.

2) Same thing, if he wants you to change your religion, he is not the right person for you.

3) You need to talk and decide on upbringing of your children together, of course both parties will want the children to adopt their religion. I think the best practice would be teaching both religions and letting the child decide when he/she is an adult.

4) Turks cannot legally marry more than 1 person (it is illegal to marry more than 1 person in turkey).

5) If he is in US, probably yes, he loves the democracy in US. Beware though, there are some really religious men in Us, belong to Fethullah Gulen group. As long as he does not belong to that group he should be a fine secular person, you need to observe him, meet his family etc. TURKEY IS STILL A SECULAR COUNTRY, IT IS NOT LIKE SAUDIA ARABIA OR IRAN. We do not have seria law. (Well, it gets worse every year and turkey becomes more like Arabia but right now you are fine) 6) Stupid question, sorry.

7) Seriously? I do not think even the US government know how to answer that.

8) Yes, only if we are talking about Turkish citizens.

Hope this info helps to all of you who are dating Turkish men. There will be always exceptions though, I am just trying to put GENERAL facts. I even myself (as being Turkish) trying to be very careful not to be involved with Muslims, to be honest with you all, if they are not Turkish I am keeping my distance as a woman.
