I'm afraid I am a little too late but I'm sure there will be similar stories to this in the future. It is completely unfair that he expects you to give up everything just so you can satisfy his needs. What about yours?

He seems that he doesn't want to consider what you want. A strong relationship is about making compromises. This man doesn't seek to compromise as he wants HIS own way of things completely. What about your comfort? Seems he doesn't care how alien and disortated you will feel. Mind America and Saudi Arabia are completely different. Here in the U.S there is liberalism and women have better lives compared to other countries. All we worry about here is equal pay, but in Saudi Arabia which is the most strictest in the Middle East, woman are to be submissive at most times.There is the Sharia Law too.

I seen so many stories like this: American woman smitten by an Arab and drops everything she loves and possesses and moves to the Middle East like he wanted to. He becomes more strict towards her with the possibility of her not pursuing her education and now she is upset. This was all because she was seduced and naive. What about your family? Your not going to see them for a very long time. What about your education and aspirations? Are you going to give that up as well. I know its not right to generalize but sometimes you should consider some stereotypes so there wont be any surprises. Don't get shocked if he expects you to just be a housewife or him getting more wives. You have Mexican heritage! The Mexican culture is beautiful and one of the best.

Are you going to replace your ethnicity/customs for his? I know you claim to have never felt that way toward a person before but honestly there are TONS of fish in the sea. Avoid being naive a true love won't put you in this situation. Do not especially give up your religion for a guy like are you kidding me? That's the last thing you want to do. What are you going to say when your facing God at the end for it is Him you will see not him? That you gave Him up so you can be with a man. God has never given up on you yet here you go chasing after a man that's temporarily. I'm sorry for me sounding unsympathetic I know most girls are sentimental but Damn stand your ground and do not degrade yourself. Many woman sinned, wronged, and done things they regret just to please a man. Now where is the self respect? I grew up tough because no way I am going to let a man influence me and my ways. Your parents should've warned about men like him.BOTTOM LINE: As soon as a man wants you to give up things for his convenience LEAVE. Really ladies it isn't hard find someone that respects you and your wants/needs.

Again, a strong relationship means compromises not one sided decision maker. By the looks of things he doesn't want to and will get what he wants even if it means stripping things away from you.Come On Girl Get It Together! You could do this. I'm sorry for being too late. I do hope you and others think twice. My aunt didn't, now she can't see her kids anymore. (he took full custody of the kids. They currently live in Egypt I think).
