Lying in IslamReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by viraj (India), Nov 10, 2016 at 02:07 Dear Ms.Lorenzi, There are some issues that raise a red flag in this case.Marriage in the Mosque is not eligible for a registration certificate under the British Law.There is no marriage considered under the civil law and so even custody of the children may not be considered then. She can have witnesses even in a court if she desires.Even if the relationship turn sour, she will have to listen to the clergy in the mosque who will coerce her to follow certain very unacceptable( to her) conditions. She may not be entitled to any alimony. He may grab the children and disappear to his native country which may not have any arrangement with England. She will be extremely helpless.unless you have come across some very honest Muslims you won't be telling her to trust him.Deception( Takiyya) is permissible in Islam,so who can say lying is a sin?If one reads Rosemary Sookhdeo's Stepping Into The Shadows, one gets to know how women are cheated when they marry in a mosque. All witnesses there can turn hostile. In a court,if one turns hostile, one is committing a major crime. She can ask for due compensation from the man in addition to alimony. One could be honest or dishonest and that has nothing to do with any religion.I have seen people who appear very honest, ensnare women and then make their lives hell plus make it very difficult to get out of the marriage and it becomes a living hell.
