Dear you need to do some diligent work of investigation, is he married back home, name last name, request a background check. Some guys want papers or want to be in the country they already live legally, if you want to spend your life with him. you need to consider this beneficial to you as well, but if he is going to marry you just for the paper and then leave you then no. You need to have this clear thou...this is aside form religion, you can be from anywhere in the world and want only papers, could be hard to have a residence unless you marry a citizen form said country. But if he only does it for inmigration status, then he is not a good Muslim. remember Lying is a sin. Ask him straight forward, he has to say the truth. Do you know his family? can you skype them or go visit them?

If he wants to marry you at the Mosque is a good sign. Someone who only wants papers or status will marry you in the courthouse, but if you also or only get married in the Mosque that means you will have witness of the marriage and he is not going to play you. Islam is a beautiful religion that embrace respect and good moral values. don't be affraid.

By the way, if by any chance you have had intimacy with him, beware, becasue a good Muslim must respect you until you are permissible to him (till marriage)
