I'm so sorry girl that u had an experience with a terrible (one of the worst most unabashed chauvinistic MENA men) guy!! And in ur own country too!! One thing u said that I won't disagree with is interracial dating-not all Egyptian men despise black women, but I've been with 2 (my ex fiancé and my current husband are Egyptian) and both would never be interested in a black women. My current husband who is not a bad seed masha'Allah, he said he met a very Beautiful black girl and took her out and tried to overcome his discomfort with a African woman but he said in the end, he could not get past it and doesn't even know where it comes from-as he is not racist and admitted she was indeed very attractive and not promiscuous.

I do know that in all MENA cultures not just Egyptian, men can and do have dark complexions but in a woman, it is seen as highly unattractive and a turn off, darker skinned women have a difficult time of it; in contrast, they desire a fair skinned (not necessarily white, as many Egyptians are not all that dark skinned and neither am I-i am Syrian and Palestinian-but not ethnic complexion for their wife idk why) my husband is fascinated with the fact that I have dark brown/black hair, medium skin and blue/green eyes (very common in Syria and Palestine my whole family is same combo). Blonde fair woman get a hard time in Egypt and I've always secretly been thankful for my looks as Arab men respect middle western women even wearing western clothes and won't try to cat call or even make eye contact in the most casual of ways whereas they gawk and paw at women who cannot hide their origins or haven't tried hard enough to disguise them. I wish u would've listened to ur gut and never gave him a dollar or let him even see ur body-he didn't deserve either and is lucky he got his little kicks now Coz Allah will make him account for it later.

Plz don't shut the door on potential for good men from the MENA or Muslim men Bc I found my love of my life and he's wrapped in that package-but surely don't go looking for one exclusively, or become wrapped up in al the wrong qualities he has, as it will cause u to overlook al the warning shots. There are bad men everywhere and even Egyptian men know how seedy some can be and its deeply shameful to them and hurts the ones who are legitimate and enables stereotypes to pervade in the minds of other non-Egyptians. Just judge a person by that persons actions not one very bad experience u had. After all, if my husband had judged me as an American woman, and the typical ones he has heard about and seen, he never would have found his wife and that not al people raised in the USA are godless whores
