Thank you for all the positive comments. It has been 6 years. He has contacted me several times saying he regrets how he treated me and has asked if I could help him and his new wife and 2 kids get visas. The unmitigated gall never ends. His younger brother occasionally emails professing unrequited love while sending nude pics and asking for marriage/visa. I hope my post makes women question a foreign man's motivation for marriage. Ask your self why they are so insistent on marrying you when they have access to women from their own culture.

Think long and hard and be realistic. Don't let my story deter you from visiting places like Egypt. It is an amazing country filled with wonderful honorable people that will go out of their way to help others. On my second year of living with that dreadful man some neighbors offered to buy me a ticket home because they were so disgusted by the way in was being treated. They were not rich people. Over and over I was shown tremendous kindness by Egyptians. Other Egyptians tried to warn me about the man I was with before I married him. The entire neighborhood disliked his family. But I was in denial and the heart wants what the heart wants.
