Feeling confused

I've been dating this Jordanian guy for a few months. We speak all week and barely on the weekends. It's strange. I only see him once a week for an hour or 2. His parents are in the country and his family business is having problems and his uncle has stage 4/5 cancer. I feel like he's keeping me a secret. My family knows about him. He talks of the future and marriage and kids with me. He has even met my children once. He is suppose to go to Jordan soon and he wants us to move in with him when he returns. We both love each other but why do I feel like he's keeping me a secret? Deep down I know he's worth the patience. I'm just insecure from how .mu ex's took advantage of my good nature.
