Reader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men

For everyone here - who is currently in love with someone from the middle east, just be careful. Arabic guys are "the greatest actors until the end". It comes very naturally to them, and you have to realize what they have to gain by winning your heart and marrying you. This is enough motivation alone to perform at their best & convincably. You will the most beautiful, the sexiest, the moonlight, habibi, hyeti, qalbi....... for the MOMENT.

Try to learn as much about arab culture, and islam as you can from free sources on the internet. Try to "LISTEN" to what women like me are trying to tell you, because we are doing it for a reason, for you to not be hurt. I know 4 females married now to , or were engaged to jodanians ,eygptians,.... arabs. none are happy.

I keep these guys as friends, in the "sweetheart" stage when they will say anything to make you happy and do anything you need. I wouldn't marry them no matter how much i thought I loved.

I've spent the last 6 years studying the arabic language, and have been contacted by many arab guys through chat programs, and have known many here in the states. Ive gained a lot of knowledge about middle east culture, about islam, about the mentality of the guys. From this I've learned in general arabs are much more generous with their sweet words than western men. It doesn't mean their sweet words are sincere. While your'e busy falling over the last thing they said - they are most likely saying that same thing to 5 other girls in 5 different chat programs that very same day. If you can take it without believing it, and just enjoying their company then you will be okay. Otherwise you may find yourself very hurt and loving someone who doesn't deserve it.

Another thing, during the relationship phase they are such sweethearts. It's after that, once they know you're committed and will marry them that you will suffer from their controlling ways, being hit (and while they say no way they would never hit a woman, they will - i have a good friend who is from egypt who recently, shockingly, PUNCHED his american wife). There is much hipocracy - much much hipocracy, things they say they will never do , quran doesnt allow them to do, BUT THEY DO IT TOO.. just in SECRET. And, Lying is very prevalent. Lying is not frowned upon as it is in christian culture, and you may never know the truth about many things.

The hardest part about the "american girl - arab guy" relationship is... the double standards. If you didnt like it in american culture... then you will despise it in arab cultures. Youre a bitch(sharmouta) for having guy friends while its okay for them to keep female friends they flirt with. These men are very jealous. I think it mostly has to do with 'control' not love, because at the same time they can be talking and working on 4 other girls.

I just want to say to you - be careful, don't believe everything they say. Remember "actions speak louder than words". Enjoy their company, as a japanese business man would enjoy a geisha.

For the women who have been burned by a middle eastern arab guy. You did everything right, because you believed and loved and gave with your heart.

Feel free to add me any of you.
