Hurt and confused

I have this online relationship with this guy from Libya, he seem genuine and yes I fell deeply in love after years of being in contact with him. Although I question he's intention and honesty as it's hard for me to get in touch with him now and hardly replies especially when I ask him about taking our relationship to the next level to get serious and committed. I never get a straight proper answer only 'it's too difficult to ask for more' although he can be quite demanding when asking 'favours' from me and get upset when I refuse (this was early in our relationship).

At the beginning I wasn't taking it too seriously but along the lines I fell for him and he never gave up on me, always pursuing me and says he deeply cares for me. Now I'm all confused, deep down I feel he may just be toying with me after all?

That thought really hurts me and the confusion doesn't make it any better.

I wish he could just give me a straight answer, if he doesn't want me anymore or anything serious with me - fine. At least I can just move on rather than left wondering if he really is too busy to reply? or he has soo much messages in his inbox he couldn't reply or so and so...

I feel like I'm the one always chasing him these days and trying to make contact - he doesn't make that much effort anymore to keep in touch. He even deactivated his FB account without replying to my message and say he has too much messages from friends and family that he had to deactivate.

I could say I'm confused but am I really just having a hard time to let go of someone non-deserving of my own efforts? Maybe I just answered my question right here.

I guess it's always therapeutic to write down what you feel and see things clearly.

I'm not sure if being a Muslim or his own culture has got something to do with the way he behaves or just one of those men in any parts of the world that are considered to be 'players' - who knows?
