Martina! I can understand how and why you might have fallen for this guy. But allow me to highlight and break down all that is wrong with your post. I think breaking posts down could make it easier for women to understand the problems occurring in these relationships with better clarity.

This is giving me anxiety - if it's giving you anxiety now, fast forward to a few months later, when all the cultural/religious differences and the idea of relocating come into play

I have known him online for almost a year now - a year might seem like a long time, but you can talk to someone online for years and still never really know them. People usually only show one (true or false) aspect of their personality online

We talk via Skype. I fell in Love, he swears his undying love - please don't take offence but this is quite irrational. It's impossible to truly fall in love online. It is, however, possible to fall in love with a false image created in your head, which may or may not come to fruition in real life

I am jewish - HUGE religious difference. It would be nice if everyone could just get along, regardless of differences, but as we know this isn't always the case

living in the U.S, but still have German citizienship - good catch for him!

He says he doesn't care, just wants to be with me - and you take that as The Truth because he said so?

Citizenship status of no importance - actually, Egyptians find it quite hard to travel internationally; they will usually require some kind of short term or student visa. And what with all the ongoing conflict over there a lot of Egyptians want out. Can't say I blame them, really, although love scams have been going on for a long time, longer than the fights broke out

His family of lawyers and teachers - is there any proof that his family holds these occupations? Even if they do it doesn't mean they don't have an ulterior motive. Egypt is still a relatively poor country

invited me to stay with them in their house - this is VERY unusual. Open-minded, liberal, conservative, whatever, Muslim families are not usually cool with their sons bringing an unmarried woman home to stay. It's against their beliefs

I trust educated people and they seem very open, up-front and definitely not fanatical - I've no doubt that they're intelligent but again, that alone doesn't make them saints. It's also easy - and common - for people to tone down their religious attitudes accordingly. It's not until you're married that you start to see the full scope of things. It's ultimately your choice as to whether you go to Egypt or not, but the problem is a lot of women go with the attitude that it's "just a holiday", and in the end most end up falling hook, line and sinker. Because believe it or not, it's a lot easier to reel women in emotionally when you have physical contact with them, than via the internet.
