I see him often and I hate Skype as it is too hard to use to communicate.

The more you see him, the better.

I have acknowledged all you have said and noted it. I think British men are attracted to these men because they are good looking, charming, kind, loving and affectionate.

In other words the men have the necessary dating skills, one of which is not acting too attached, which either means the man knows what he is doing or genuinely doesn't care about you---maybe both.

It's easy for me as a guy to see how they hook these women.

And being 5-20 years younger than the woman, who in many cases is divorced with kids or who had a live-in boyfriend for years who wouldn't commit, does help the man's cause too.

The other end of the spectrum are women who are 18-25 and never had a serious adult relationship and are on the internet looking for romance for the first time ever.

I am sure there are good news stories but no one will share them.

People who have good relationships are too busy enjoying them to care what anonymous posters on-line think.

If you have to rely on the success of other relationships to justify the validity of your own, that's a red flag warning.

I have seen 'red flags' but no doubt I give off 'red flags'as in any relationship but I would not move out there, give up my home, my business, or my life.

That is not an acceptable excuse; besides I'm sure that women have said that before, fall for the man and do just that.

A person should not be giving off any "red flags' and if you really thnk that you are, those issues should be addressed before pursing any relationship.

Now, if you are talking about not knowing someone, well, that is what dating is for. Trouble is on this nice planet of ours, not every culture finds Western concepts dating an acceptable practice, even if they do engage it for their own curiosity or convenience. It's also hard to get know who someone really is just from on-line interaction or if you don't see them often.

But I have a friend that says these men are clever fishermen and gradually reel you in. Is that a regular experience.

Yes, it is. This site is just the tip of the iceberg. You have mentioned British men more than once on here as being the culprits for bad relationships, but you ought to see how Second and Third women scam Western men!

The principles of deceit and con-artistry have no bounds on national origin or ethnicity, Rachel, the patterns are the same.

I think you have to constantly take a look back, keep in touch with your own culture and try to get both sides of the story.
