Smart Woman

Your mom and you are smart women. I was married to a Moroccan man for nearly two decades. I had to pay all the bills, never got gifts, was cursed, lied to and so much more. Muslim men—at least many of them—do not respect women. They are just as bad to Muslim wives as they are to non Muslim wives. They are mean and controlling. Throughout my marriage I walked on eggshells. I did everything to make it work but no avail. And their mamas will do their best to rule the roost.

Yes, what you were attracted to was "exoticism." So was I. Believe me, their definition of love is different from ours. Find a nice Western man who values and cherishes you. It was very hard to get rid of my husband but it was the best thing I have done in two decades.
