Your post is a contradiction.

You say you have "no reason" to doubt what he says, but as your narrative goes on, you clearly are not sure what to think.

First, meeting a foreigner on-line for romance is a risky proposition.

Secondly, if this man knows of someone who is suicidal, you do not give into blackmail, you call the police.

Third, real love doesn't happen over the internet.

Fourth, even on the slim chance he is open and truthful about everything, he's in no place for a serious relationship with you.

Fifth, this could be about any number of things including a VISA to the UK.

So in retrospect, you have a lot of reasons to doubt this, especially if you are older than he is or this is your first relationship.
