Thank you for your story Layla. I have told my story previously on here and I too met the right man in Egypt. We met through friends but like you the relationship developed over time before it became serious. My husband is Muslim but very accepting of western ways so religion is not a problem for us. We mostly reside in Australia now but visit Egypt throughout the year and are due to go back in seven weeks or so to attend to business matters.

I too found this site because of my initial need to research Islam and relationships with Muslim men. I agree also that the problem with women embracing a relationship with a Muslim man is that they do not have nearly enough knowledge before they accept the man into their lives. They need to experience the middle eastern way of life before committing to ANYTHING with the man.

Gauged from some of the stories on this blog - any woman who meets an Egyptian man from Sharm el Sheik or Hurghada needs to give them a wide berth. Any woman who meets an Egyptian man from a poor background needs to walk away. Any woman who meets an Egyptian man online and visits them without a Plan B (leaving the country quickly because the man is a thief, violent, and controlling) needs their head read. What more can I say!
