I can relate to what you've written - you can find rotten, abusive men in all cultures. And when you scratch beneath the surface, a lot of Western culture is still quite degrading towards women. As an example, it was a sunny day in London yesterday, so I decided to wear a Spring dress, nothing racy. And from the moment I stepped outside I felt objectified in various ways: from disgusting men leering from their car windows to cat calls and being physically bumped into. And I thought to myself, is this really much better? It's down to conditioning from TV, lads mags & porn who convey the message that women are objects for male pleasure and viewing.

And I'll say one thing, no one ever steps forward to defend a woman. Misogyny is rampant in the UK but in this PC society no one really talks about it. What I'm trying to say is, it's not a Muslim thing at all. If you don't meet a Muslim scammer online, then chances are you'll meet your garden variety local sociopath/sex predator.
