Is fairness important

This issue comes over and over again when a gullible non-muslim wants to marry a muslim. The proposition is that the gullible-person can keep his/her old religion but the children of the marriage will be raised as muslims. I know for fundamentalists hypocrisy does not matter but can there be anything more hypocritical and insulting than proposing to a person that his/her children will have a different religion than him or her. Mind you, the proposition does not say that both religions will be equally respected or that the children can choose the religion of their choice when they grow up. The proposition say that the only religion that will be followed by the children will be Islam.

Some other reader on the site recently mentioned that as recently as a few decades ago 30% of the people in Turkey were Christians. Now we know what happened to those 30%. They either left Turkey or just fell in love!
