thank you very much for your comments. We have in fact talked about all the things you mention in your comments. first of all, the muslins in Egypt are very different from the ones in Iraq, in fact, so much so that the Iraqis loathe the egyptians. They do not think very much of them and think that all of them are liars.

My Hussein said that women in his area are very independent. many work, his sister is a teacher and his other sister works to help out her husband. Their mom keeps care of they very young children. None of his family members wear the traditional clothing, all wear western wear (jeans, etc) and they love labels like Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren but said it was hard to get originals but they buy anyway just because they like. He would never deny me going out of the house and would not expect me clean up after him or cook for him, in fact he has said quite the opposite, that he would cook for me cuz he knows how much i like mediterranian food...LOL. I have read many sites about muslin men and we have discussed all. i have asked many questions and he is as surprised at the propaganda as I am reading it.

He said that some in Iraq believe in polygamy, but no one in his family has ever practiced nor would they ever saying that one wife to take care of was enough. He believes that practices like this give them a bad name and also reminded me that we have the same in the U.S. and he is 100% correct. We talked about wife beating and he said that there are many in surrounding countries (egypt being one the worst) that do treat their wives like slaves and beat them. He said it was very different in Iraq and he wised all the middle eastern countries were not seen as the same by the U.S. because they were very, very different. he is extremely interested in christianity and said there were many in Iraq that were christian...he likes to read the bible and finds that its teaching make much more sense than his muslin religion. I do appreciate your comments and welcome more...that is why I am here to weigh all the good and bad. so far it seems like most of the stories about muslin men are from different areas, not from Iraq, but if I am wrong, not all Iraqi's are the same either. Please respond again...thanks
