Canadian woman, Muslim man

Dear CDNFLEUR:

As a guy, I'm just going to level with you here:

This man is using you for sex and money.

I feel like a dirty shameful secret.

That is understandable, because to him that is basically what you are.

His family probably wouldn't like you because you and he are having premartial sex, which frankly is a bad idea all around. That could be what the undertone to you being "white" means to them but either way it is racist.

And looking at his watch all the time?

Just when you think you've heard it all.

See it like this: He doesn't like talking on the phone and even avoids you not just because he'd be worried about getting caught and maybe because he really doesn't care.

Listen, I understand that he probably makes you feel good in some way and you may even like being with someone different, but:

I'm quite certain he's using you and will continue to do so as long as you let it. You need to end this relationship immediately. It's also clear to me that his family and maybe his religion/morals come first even if you are having sex. No woman on here should ever think that just because a religious man has sex with you that he's about to throw tradition to the wind.

His ex being in the picture is a further cause for concern, and it would not surprise me if he has something going on besides you.

The obsessive behavior is a problem as well, and it really can't be expected to go away. If you continue with this relationship, he'll still expect you to dress more conservatively, wonder where you are and that could be just the tip of the iceberg.

What is evident is that he is treating you like dirt and I can see why you would be confused. On the one hand, he'll have sex with you, but on the other, he tries to hide you from his family.

You can do better than this man. Being with him is a waste of time. He's lied to you before and I suspect he's not telling you the whole truth now about certain things.

CDNFLEUR, you are being taken advantage of and it goes on only as long as you tolerate it.
