Thank you for writing this article. I have recently been involved with a Moroccan man. He is handsome, charming and funny but very needy. I wouldn't have thought much about this but it is always what can I do for him sort of approach. He had hinted at wanting to start his own business, needing money, a car. While I am independent, I am not rich by any means. Even if I had wanted to help him I am not financially able.

To make a long story short, I am not a fan of wasting my time so after 3 months I asked what he wanted for us in the future. To my amazement I suddenly found out he was already "promised" to someone in Morocco. Within 3 days the real truth came out that he was married before we ever met and he never told me.

While hurt and embarrassed by the situation I am grateful that I did not allow it to progress further and get hurt worse in this whole mess. He acted as if he had done nothing wrong in not telling me his marital status and didn't understand why I was so shocked.

Be very cautious with these foreign men. Not all are bad, but some are certainly desperate enough to try to justify bad behavior in an attempt to escape the poverty and hardship they live in at home.
