Dr. Pipes: It seems that you did not read my 2/2/2021 post! I believe you meant to write فقيه not فقهي

It should be حافظ or Hafiz and the root حفظ or H-F-Z

Sorry for the typo

As for the word Fiqi here from page 666 in Badawi and Hinds dictionary of Egyptian Arabic

"فقي fiqi/n pl fuqaha 1. Professional reciter or teacher of the Koran 2. one who combines sanctimonious hypocrisy with low scavenging ways

As for the word فقهي it is a very different word. It means: (something) Pertaining to Islamic Jurisprudence ie: it is not a person (check page 665 in Badawi and Hinds dictionary)

I believe that you meant to say: فقيه (pl. فقهاء ) which also ,means Fiqi

More? Here is a YouTube video of the most famous Fiqi ever his name is عبدالباسط عبدالصمد

Also check Hans Wehr dictionary page 723

"Fiqi popular usage eg. pronounced FIQI reciter of the Koran"

"fiqhi فقهي relating to jurisprudence in Islam"

It is not a person
