Our dear Fatou wrote this little gem

SALLA (m) Does not mean prayer but blessings as in may blessings be upon you/her/him

...The Arabic words صلى (he prayed past tense masculine singular) MEANS HE PRAYED and the present tense is يصلي means He prays

Oh you do not believe me? Here check this
