Dr. Pipes,

I think we both agree that the translation of Sala Allahu 'Alayhi wa Salam as: "Peace Be Upon Him" is incorrect right?

This is how Ibn Manzur defines it as follows: صلا الصلاة الركوع والسجود or He prayed Praying is bowing and prostration and this is what He Prays in Islam is about and here is the link

https://islamweb.net/ar/library/index.php?page=bookcontents&idfrom=4673&idto=4673&bk_no=122&ID=4681

However, Muslims realized that it is indeed very odd that not just Allah but his angels pray upon Muhammad

And this is Ibn Manzur التبرير or al-Tabrir of this disaster: فالصلاة من الملاءكة دعاء واستغفار ومن الله رحمة

So he is saying that: Praying from the angels means supplication and forgiveness. Which is not true. He clearly created another disaster why would the angels be involved in forgiveness when only Allah can forgive?

Then he tells us as for Allah: Yusali really means Mercy. Which is also not true

If this is true then the verse should have been: الملاءكة يدعوا ويستغفروا والله يرحم النبي instead the author of the Qur'an selected the word يصلون or They Pray

This is clearly التبرير for this linguistic disaster
