This is a very good post, and you raise several good points especially researching the man's religion which is VITAL. Islam in particular is not just a set of beliefs but a way of life and you will find Muslims on both ends of the scale, from secular to borderline fundamentalist... But, regardless of the strength of his or her faith, a Muslim will always put another Muslim's well-being above that of a kafir. The main objective is to strengthen and expand Islam, at whatever cost.

That's not to say that all Muslims are bad, but the belief system is in a word complex. And you are not marrying an individual, as in Islam there is no self but rather a collective community of slaves to God. It bugs me no end when people say that it's not about religion because I'm sorry but a significant part of it is.

I've also observed the general pattern, and I think the only instance in which you'll be treated as a relatively respected human being is if you submit, and I mean full obedience, no questions asked. A doll with no mind of her own.

I've just returned from Egypt and the amount of converted wives out there is insane. A boy of around 8 came up to me and asked if I was a kafir lol. Your statement about women reverting for love struck a note, because I do know of a German woman that's given up her whole identity for her Egyptian husband. He is living a comfortable life in her villa. An expat friend told me that she herself has been through hell trying to get a divorce, and that western women are seen as "cheap meat". And this is coming from someone that lives there. I've known a few Moroccans and I will say that they don't tend to be quite as religious, although they can be quite racist. I'd say a lot of their resentment comes from colonialism etc.

Submitting....
