Robin: The Qur'an says: Beat them (women)!Reader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Nov 4, 2020 at 11:01 Robin you wrote: >Regardless of what it says in the Quran, women in fact are treated as inferior beings to men in Muslim society. This is very true and it was your response for our dear "A Truth Seeker" the genius. He wrote: >The 4:34 Quran verse, in English: Let me guess he cannot read the Qur'an in Arabic. Why is this important? How can he be sure that the translation he is providing is not more that another tendentious and bogus translation? Then he wrote: >punish them (mildly) Well, the Quranic text says in Arabic a language that he clearly cannot read speak or write: فاضربوهون This can be rendered as: Then (you) beat them (your wives) The Qur'an does not tell us how to beat them and how much to beat them Notice that if I translate his bogus translation back to Arabic it the verse should read: فعاقبوعن عقاب خفيف or Then punish them (only) a light punishment, which is not what the verse says! And even if this is what the Qur'an is saying then what is really "light punishment"? Well, if we check the ahadith we will find a famous hadith where no other than the 6 year old wife of Muhammad, 'Aisha, as saying and to paraphrase she says that a wife of one of the followers of Muhammad was beaten by her husband until her skin became green (read this a bruised) and that was fine with Muhammad because this is what the Qur'an says Here is a link to the hadith in Arabic and use googletranslate it is not the best but you will get the idea. https://islamweb.net/ar/library/index.php?page=bookcontents&idfrom=10639&idto=10640&bk_no=52&ID=3258 So you see our dear genius "A Truth Seeker" he either knew what the Quanic text says and he was hoping that we kuffar can be fooled and in this case he is a liar. Or he has no clue what the Qur'an says and in this case he is ignorant. So is he a liar or ignorant?
