I had a cousin that was clinically dead for over 5 minutes on two separate occasions and lived to tell about it.

He told me there's nothing after you die - no 'light', no visions, no nothing. I am not proclaiming that this is definitive proof that there is no 'after life'. It is merely one person's experience. But it's worth noting that many people that have died and come back, report the same thing, that they saw or felt simply nothing.

Point is, ALL religions are purported by men, mere mortals themselves, other human beings just like ourselves. They claim to be 'told' by God X, Y & Z, but we don't know for certain if they were or not. Most likely it was just a means to make money and gain power, IMO.
