Bragging with no substanceReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by Prashant (United States), Jan 29, 2020 at 20:55 Dear Dr Pipes, Your reader Jordana Ghannam-Ahmed bragged that no "good" middle eastern men will every take his wives' money. I am at a loss. In the modern times sometimes women are as educated as men and may earn as much money as their husbands. Even in some Islamic nations I have seen Muslim women working and making money. If "My money is my money and his money is our money" dictum is true, two people and their children are living in less money than they can afford to live. That is utterly wasteful. And if the great ME man ends up marrying 4 wives (as he is allowed to), they may end up living in utter poverty when they do not have to. So Jordana Ghannam-Ahmed's letter is more bragging than substance. In my opinion. I will encourage her to get educated and if she ends up earning contribute to the family finances. It is utterly selfish if a woman (or man, for that matter) spends all their money on themselves.
