Don't trust his intentionsReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by Jordana Ghannam-Ahmed (United States), Jan 25, 2020 at 00:19 Where is your husband from? Did you marry there I presume? I am not sure which country exactly this pertains to so I don't want to assume anything, but.......I can tell you for certain that in Egypt (where I live and where we got married and my husb country of origin) and Syria (where I am from) a second wife cannot be legally taken without the presence and express consent of the first wife. And that is taken quite seriously and adhered to as it's considered distasteful and uncouth to take another wife or wives against the wishes of the first wife, whom must be provided for financially and emotionally in the marriage before it could even be appropriate to explore the possibility of another wife. That is an Islamic requirement (and not the only one either btw) but I am not sure as to whether those are upheld and to that degree in all countries in that area. However, that aside, it seems he rather enjoys playing with your emotions and sought a different response from you when he threatened to take a second wife. It doesn't hardly seem beneficial of healthy to continue in such a marriage environment and perhaps the best decision you can make is to leave the marriage on your terms and by your decision. You CAN divorce a foreign spouse residing abroad and you have rights and resources to help you do so should you decide to. Best of luck to you inshallah the right decision for you will be revealed soon God bless Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
