in response to reader comment: You Cannot Just Blaim the Muslim Men For the Tragedies Here

Well, well, well you are a charmer Natalie. Welcome to the forum but I am at a loss as to why you are here - was it to upset and annoy people? I was not looking for a romantic, yet non-committal relationship at the time or I may myself have chatted up a man in a bar to have a one night stand / sex - not really my thing though! Not all of us are "lax". Also I don't think you can compare a Nigerian scamming (are all Nigerians scammers?) you on the phone to entering a relationship with what you thought was a normal human being. I can only speak for myself in this comment but I can assure you I did my homework re the culture of my ex Turkish "so called" husband from the religion, expectations as a wife, to having him checked out by a solicitor, checking his identity card etc etc etc - the list goes on. I clearly did not do enough or they were very good in concealment. I think I entered my relationship with open eyes, I am quite pessimistic to be honest, a realist but let me tell you nothing can prepare you for the way these men and their families operate. Have you experienced it??? I guess not! So "they got me", it was my decision and yes I do take full responsibility for what happened and I did when I marched into a solicitors office and divorced the rat. He got nothing. It was then welcome to the real world for him..........I was already in the real world and remain so to this day. Still it was not an experience I wish to ever repeat and I guess this is what this website hopes to achieve - to protect women from how devious these types are. This is a Middle East forum and to that end most of the males discussed about on here are Muslim - that is not a crime but it appears a huge defining factor in the horrible stories reported - they are people from certain parts of the world that by their own admission are trying to reach the west to better their lives and provide for their hidden wives and families. The thing is we are just normal people who had no hidden agenda and thought these Oscar performers were as we were. Unless you have experienced it, it is hard to explain and would take too long. Now divorced (only once), educated, employed and forty or fifty something (I am now) this woman had better go and book a mental health counselling appointment. As for you, I hope you have found a spouse of your own culture (bit narrow minded), chose wisely and live happily ever after. Meanwhile back in the real world, for those of you who are looking for empathy in your hour of need please continue to frequent this forum for help and guidance from friends who have experienced the same. I will be making no further comment in this respect!
