Reader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men
in response to reader comment: Why a 19 years old egyptian guy wants to marry?

You are too young for this, Katya... there are some really bad men working in places like Hurghada and Sharm. And I mean really bad. There are undoubtedly some good ones as well, but he doesn't sound like one of them. Not only does he sleep around - which in his religion is haram - but his dad has married four women. So he comes from the kind of background where men are entitled to do what they want. And an entitled man is a dangerous one. A selfish one. One that won't make you happy.

What a lot of Egyptian men are doing right now is targeting women from Eastern Europe to marry for a Schenghen visa. I was there two weeks ago and I've seen it with my own eyes.

I can see why you'd be attracted to him but you know what, Katya, I've realised that a lot of time we're more in love with the holiday than the man. Take away the sun and sea and we wouldn't touch these men with a foot long stick.
