Dear Mercedes,
9 years of trauma and painful memories are very difficult,if not impossible,to eradicate completely from your mind.
However,I am happy that you are safe now.Rise and shine.Stop feeling bad and sad.You will only keep the wounds fresh.It is easy for me to say this but 9 years are nothing in your beautiful, long life.Human history is replete with mistakes and we progress actually making them and evolve into stronger persons.

I am sure this too shall pass and you will emerge a happier woman.Nothing is lost.Think of many and most of their women who have to spend the whole lifetime with these creatures only because of their religious diktats and traditions AND be happy.
