Dear Selena,
It's really very difficult to gauge how he is and still more difficult to predict how he will be later.
Religion is very important to them and it tells them that any Muslim who gets a non-Muslim into Islam goes straight to heaven and sits next to Allah with 72 virgins nearby. This is promised if they spread Islam and /die while doing so.With marriage,no violence is necessary-very convenient. The woman gives in (surrender=Islam) for love and her children also are made Muslims.

He could be a good man or putting his best foot forward. Why can't you find a perfect match within your own clan?

There is no such thing as an "instant connection" .Egypt is possibly not what it was and there is nothing exotic about it anymore. It was once(before Islam arrived) a great source of knowledge ,art and architecture -exactly like pre-Islamic Persia(today's Iran),Byzantium(only part of this is Turkey) and some Central Asian natiins.Islam went there and appropriated the art and architecture and declared it Islamic.Contrary to popularopinion India's Taj Mahal is based on these ore-Islamic designs,as Arabia before, during and after tgeir Prophet was very primitive. So even this should not impress you.
Still if you want to take a chance, you may but keep witnesses, never marry him in his country, never marry in a Mosque as this has no legal validity, keep your consulate informed if you go to Egypy or anywhere else, guard your passport and keep your eyes and ears open.
Good luck.
