Reader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men
in response to reader comment: How do I know if a Moroccan man is genuine

I don't have as much experience as some of the ladies here. But after I met my Egyptian friend I started reading on their religion and culture. I learned that the Islamic law "gives a wife the unconditional right to economic support from her husband regardless of her own financial resources". Basically a wife's job is to just take care of the house and family while her husband does all the work. With that said an Islamic men shouldn't or wouldn't take money from a women. Nonetheless one that isn't even his wife.

Honoring their family and reputation is very important. So like many ladies here have said they are not going to marry an older woman. They want a virgin. My Egyptian friend is 29 and I'm 44. He also told me he loved me and that aged didn't matter. Regardless of his culture and religion I know our age difference can and will be an issue. I also suggest you read on female genital mutilation they go to the extremes to prevent young women from losing their virginity before marriage. A husband can divorce the wife if he believes she wasn't a virgin on their wedding night.

Same goes for having a child before marriage. That is one of the biggest sin in Islam, so for those men wanting to get their foreign girlfriend pregnant it should be a big sign that he is after something else. That illegitimate child will mean nothing to them. Good luck Bella. I wish you the best.
