Reader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men
in response to reader comment: Yes they don't want Western women to know

Chelsea, even though I tried to prepare my husband with answers to questions I thought he would be asked, in the end it was the simple things that tripped him up. He hadn't bothered to learn English, couldn't tell the officer where I worked, and couldn't even tell him the last movie I watched (one of my main pastimes). He didn't bring photos of our "wedding," and never bothered to plan a marriage celebration for my return visit, even though he had almost five months and the $1,000 I left him to figure something out. He had already spent all of that money by my second visit, and spent not one penny of his own money on me while I was there. I paid for everything, even the apartment we stayed in. I never got an explanation for where the money I gave him went - when I asked, he said only "expenses." I was not happy with him when I left Morocco, but still, but still I persevered. Stupid me. I know they now investigate all potential immigrants' social media accounts, and if anything looks even remotely suspect, they send them back to their country from the airport. My bonehead husband would have had a fun time explaining his Facebook account, where his marital status was "single," there were absolutely no photos of me, and all of his friends were kept private. These guys are stooooopid. Even with a wife taking care of the bulk of the immigration process, they still can't manage to do the small part that falls to them. I guess they think their Western fiancé or wife will do everything for them. They are lazy, entitled, azzholes. I am no fan of the current administration, and I don't like how refugees are being treated, but damn, I'm glad they're cracking down on these lowlifes.
