in response to reader comment: Marriage contract

Did you go with him to the embassy to marry...? I know the official marriages are usually quite bureaucratical and involve lots of paperwork. Maybe another reader can help confirm, because I only had an orfi... which is a simple contract made by a lawyer and signed by both parties. The orfi is invalid even in Egypt. It just gives them permission to be haram in an halal way... lol... middle eastern logic.

I can understand you wanting revenge... but the best revenge, Arisa, is to cut him off and start afresh. But if you really want revenge then your best bet is to report him to your embassy for domestic violence and theft... could be tricky, though, since the government practically supports marital rape.

You could also trick him by telling him you've sent some money and he needs to travel somewhere far to pick it up. Lots of evil ideas haha.

Yes, they usually hurt those that are weaker, ie. women and animals. You'll rarely see them picking on other men. Even in Morocco, the men can be seen fighting each other. In Egypt, a woman is worth nothing other than what she can do for her man. Her value is based on her husband's happiness. And the girls learn this from the moment they can walk.

These men are in actual fact pathetic... they rarely succeed, and even when they do karma comes back to bite them. Trust me, their actions follow them for the rest of their lives, aside from the ones that are complete psychopaths. In the meantime, try to be more assertive and don't give anyone any more money.
