I hope you're doing fine. The point in being obedient towards their family relays on Jannah, once again. If they don't do what they have been told and take care if their parents, they are not following the Qur'an and the sunnah. According to their 2 holy books, if they disobey one thing, and marrying their family's choice is a very punishable one, they are socially buried by their family. It means their social death. They lose their bond with both their relatives and their community. Ultimately, they will have to forget about Jannah, as I quoted in another post, Heaven lies under mothers' feet. So you can imagine that they will always do what they are told to.
