Didi, I felt the same way about my husband initially, that he loved me but didn't know how to love a Western woman the way we want to be loved. As time went on, however, I discovered evidence that he was cheating on me. Did he really love me, or if he did, was it "out of sight, out of mind?" He knew it would upset me if I discovered the cheating, which is why he hid it so well for so long. I guess he thought I would never be the wiser, but he got sloppy and forgot about things I had access to. Maybe because their religion/culture allows them to have multiple wives, they don't see any harm in it? Of course, they wouldn't like it if we women had sexual partners besides them. With these men, it's "do as I say, not as I do."

It gives me great satisfaction that I have prevented him from entering the U.S. based on our marriage, and I am working to ensure he will not be able to enter by any other means by writing to a lot of government officials about him specifically, and Moroccan men in general. People should not be allowed to get away with abusing others without repercussions, and he definitely abused me, even if not physically. I was so good to him, I did so much for him, and none of it was appreciated. What a waste. I wish you luck in the future, and hope things work out for you as you would like. Take care. <3
