2. My Mena personality traits - Lying

Reader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men

One of the most annoying traits ever about my Mena, and a very common one as I read on the forum, was his blatant lying.

Here's a very small example about that: I met him while he was a heavy smoker, a habit that annoys me, and I simply asked him to either quit with cigarettes ...or with me. The day after, he announced that he had thrown cigarettes away and I valued this as the best proof of his respect and devotion towards me. In the following months, I sometimes smelt smoke on his clothes, but I blindly believed it was because "he was living with other smokers", or "somebody on the street had been smoking next to him", etc. One day, many months after his quitting smoking, I spotted him while smoking perfectly at ease on his balcony. His explanation was that it was special smoke he had made against mosquitos (?) and when I caught him smoking in winter once, "that was just the steam of warm tea" until I just confronted him... And then he plainly admitted that he had never quitted smoming since our first date and never would. Then why would he lie to me all the time? "No, that was not lying as he had reduced the amount of cigs from 60 a day to 4 which "was no smoking at all"... And what about the steam of tea and the special mosquito smoke, no lies, either? He would change topic without responding, or put me a question point blank to divert my attention, matter closed. Had he been wrong? No. So he would feel no remorse at hurting my trust, either.

Moral of the story: if he lied about such a "simple" thing as smoking, what will he not have lied to me about?

Maybe it's best I never find out... Ahahahahah

Take care, everyone.
