In my opinion he wants to be obsessed about him/dependent on him, make you many children when you get married and have european papers in the end because if it's only a religious wedding then later probably you will have to repeat it in the registry office. If you are an European girl i am amazed why did you change religion to islam? Did you read what's the role and what are the right's of woman there?
