Reader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men
in response to reader comment: aĺl men are the same every where

Submitted by Prashant (United States), Dec 28, 2018 at 16:21

Dear Dr Pipes, The reader rchidi from Morocco equated ME men with all other men by saying that all men are same every where. Far from it. Very far. Most men in today's world are governed by modern laws that do not allow us to marry more than one woman at a time. We are also governed by laws that do not allow us to give bigger shares of inherited properties to one or the other gender. We are also governed by laws that do not allow us to request our female partners to wear suffocating clothes. And, yes, most men now a days live in societies that prefer freedom, democracy, and separation of church and state. These things continuously force us to monitor and change our attitudes.

So, Mr rchidi , please stop saying that all men are same all over. Non-muslims are are different. We are not perfect but we are different. And we would like Islamic world also to adopt secularism, democracy and separation of church and state. It is just a matter of time before it happens.
