I had to laugh when I read that the rat contacted you when your mom died. That's how I got together with my ex-rat also. I was very vulnerable at the time of my mom's death and got sucked in.

The difference is, mine was not an online romance. I had known him for years and would see each other often, as platonic friends. We lived and worked in the same town. He wasn't even looking for a visa because he was already a citizen through the visa lottery.

What can I say? They are all bloody rats, online and offline.
